Still Noise explores the tension between stillness and sound. Although the work itself is static, the energy is made visible through the image. The piece emerged through processes of rust and grinding, both inherently unstable and continuously evolving.
Rust continues to develop over time, yet within this work, that movement has been momentarily frozen. The title refers to a form of noise that is not heard, but visually captured and held still within the material.
