Desire presents two figures moving toward one another, yet just missing each other. Their near connection reflects the feeling of desire: longing for something that seems within reach, but at the same time remains out of reach. Desire exists in that brief moment of longing, because once what is desired is attained, the feeling itself disappears.
This subtle emotion, so difficult to describe in words, is translated into a visual form in ground steel. The work captures the tension between reaching, longing, and missing.
